Q Test inspection is a unique Inspection and Engineering company that provides most services offered by a large corporation with the personal touch of an owner-operated medium-sized business.
Established in the heart of Alberta in 1995, Q Test started as a local pipeline NDT company focusing on conventional NDT services. Fast forward to today; we have now expanded our services to all of Western Canada, with offices in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer and Medicine Hat.
How we came to be
Jesse Bailey and Victor Bailey took over the company and formed an elite team of Full-Service NDT Technicians, CWB & API Inspectors, Engineers, and National Board Accredited Inspectors.
This diverse range of services offers a compelling value proposition. Q Test can integrate multiple services into one, resulting in significant time and resource savings.

Jesse Bailey
PRESIDENT
As the President, Jesse is responsible for determining the company’s strategic direction, managing client accounts, negotiating and closing business deals, researching innovative technologies, and developing new services to enhance efficiency.
He has extensive knowledge of the market trends and the technical expertise to manage diverse oil and gas projects. He is the Lead Project Manager of the company’s multi-million dollar projects and direct all work efforts. He is responsible and accountable to execute multiple projects in all areas including: human resource management, cost management and change management.

Victor Bailey
General Manager
Vice President with 30+ years of experience in NDT and Quality Assurance. Offers expertise in managing large teams in quality improvement functions and helping clients with cost savings. Excels in developing and implementing processes/methods to successfully cut costs and streamline operations. Has strategic view & differentiated leadership practices, communication and presentation skills.
Responsible to actively manage all aspects of operations including: service level, quality, staff and finance. Determined and decisive creative problem-solver with a proven track record of delivering complex transformational change. Thrives on the opportunity to make a difference and deliver sustainable results whilst maintaining an environment of transparency and professional integrity.
Scott Johnson
Marketing Director
Scott joined Q Test Inspection in May of 2020. We are very excited to have him as our Marketing Director. He brings a warm, high energy personality to work with him every day, managing our business development operations, working with existing clients and winning new accounts. A big reason for his success with Q Test Inspection is his ability to serve. He has a knack for understanding our clients’ needs and putting together win win solutions for them.
Scott has previously held several Business Development and marketing positions including VP of Sales with one of Western Canada’s largest oil and gas investment groups with a primary focus on small to mid-size on and off shore projects.
Nick Marx
Integrity Division Manager
Nick Marx is 45+ year veteran in the NDE / inspection / integrity industry. He has worked in all Canadian Jurisdictions as well as abroad. The scope of work included: manufacturing, pulp & paper, mining, power generation, nuclear facilities and predominantly oil & gas.
Employers included have been: Dominion Bridge, Atlas Testing Labs, Acuren, All West X-Ray, Roth Radiography, Skystone Engineering & Rae Engineering.
He started IRML in November 2010 specializing in inspection & integrity assessments. IRML was granted their first ABSA CAP in early 2011 & their TSASK in the fall of 2021. During its tenure IRML developed. Implemented & managed IMS programs for a variety Owners including cementing operations (Schlumberger), waste management (Tervita), propane dispensing (Superior & Parkland) as well as numerous oil & gas producers. An important note is that all of those still in existence with pressure equipment remain loyal clients of IRML and now Q Test.
Cheyanna Casey
Indigenous Relations
Cheyanna Casey has been an integral part of the indigenous community for many years. She brings her experience with community building, relationship management, and communication skills to her role as an Indigenous Relations Manager at QTest.
In this role, she manages key Indigenous Relations issues and initiatives for the company. Cheyanna also brings an indigenous perspective to the integration of traditional and western views with her communication skills and ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
She believes that successful communication requires an understanding of both western and traditional views. This unique perspective allows her to incorporate both perspectives into her communications approach, allowing her to collaborate successfully with multiple stakeholders.
In addition to her experience working with First Nations communities in Canada, Cheyanna also has knowledge of treaties 6, 7, and 8, Métis culture, and Inuit culture.
Clint Magdee
Vice President of Operations
With over 30 years of NDT operational, and technical experience. Clint has been involved in A Vice President role for many of those years. His knowledge base brings the following skills to Qtest Inspection Ltd.
Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into the goals, progress, and obstacles of key initiatives
Draw on relationships with department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals
Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks
Devise strategies for ensuring the growth of programs enterprise-wide, and implement process improvements to maximize output and minimize costs
Adhere to the company’s policies and standards, and ensure that laws and code regulations are being followed
Work closely with Human Resources to lead the team with integrity and to establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment
Rana Ankit
FINANCE DIRECTOR
Rana brings over 12 years of progressive experience from Public accounting, Industry, VC and Governance sector. In his role as Finance Director , Rana is responsible for accounting , finance, taxation, as well as insurance and risk management.
Rana is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan.
